Access Guide

Supported by the Lendlease Foundation, Jem is the first retail mall in Singapore to partner with the Disabled People’s Association to create an Access Guide to facilitate easy navigation for visitors with diverse access needs, including those with disabilities and limited mobility.

  • This Access Guide includes:

    • Information on getting to Jem
    • General information on key features and policies of Jem
    • Floorplans of Jem with the location of basic amenities and accessible features such as accessible toilets and Family/Parent rooms
    • Please note that all information is accurate as of April 2024.

    This Access Guide does not include:

    • Access information about temporary features and events
    • Detailed access information about restaurants and retail shops at Jem

    Opening Hours:
    10am to 10pm daily

  • Accessible Toilets

    There is at least one accessible toilet on each level from B1 to L5.

    • Motion activated sliding doors on all accessible toilets
    • “Wave to open” sensors are mounted at 0.95m next to door
    • No braille on sensor

    Parent Rooms

    There are parent rooms on L2, L3 and L4.

    • Rooms can be accessed via a “press to open” button
    • Button is mounted at a height of 0.38m next to door
    • No braille on button

    Parent rooms are equipped with:
    • A baby seat mounted at 0.9m
    • A diaper changing station mounted at 1.42m
    • Adult and child water closets
    • Adult and child wash basins

    Family Rooms

    There are family rooms on B1, L3 and L5.

    • Rooms are accessed by communicating with command office via a touchscreen
    • Touchscreen is mounted at 1.25m next to door
    • Intercom system does not have an interactive video feature
    • No instructions in braille

    Family rooms are equipped with:
    • Private feeding rooms with sofa and side table
    • Diaper changing stations at a height of 0.93m
    • No clear knee space under the diaper changing stations
    • Hot and cold water
    • Adult and child water closets
    • Adult and child wash basins

    ATMs
    Location of ATMs:
    • Talking POSB ATMs at exit of FairPrice Xtra (#B1-21/22) and infront of TAI ER (#B1-04)
    • OCBC ATMs at #B1-18 and at exit of FairPrice Xtra (#B1-21/22)
    • Standard Chartered ATMs at #B1-12
    • UOB ATMs at #02-15

    Lifts
    There are two lift lobbies, Lift Lobby 1 and Lift Lobby 2.
    • Lifts serve B3 to L5
    • Sufficient clearance width to accomodate wheelchair users
    • Buttons with braille
    • No rear mirror in lifts
    Escalators

    There are escalators that serves B1 to L5.

    • Two-levelled step entry and exit
    • No flashing red and steady green lights to warn visitors
    • Please be careful

    Travelators

    There are travelators that serves B1 to B3.

    • Emits loud sounds connecting B1 to B2.

    Guide Dogs

    Jem is guide dog friendly.

    Mobility Aids

    Manual and motorised wheelchairs are welcome at Jem.

    • No charging points for motorised wheelchairs
    • Complimentary wheelchairs for hire at Concierge at L3
    • Wheelchairs are available on a first come, first served basis

    Fire Evacuation and Rescue Information

    In the event of an emergency, refer to the Evacuation Plan that is present at the Lift Lobbies. This plan includes information about the accessible routes for evacuation. In case of fires, do not use the lifts.

    Concierge Services

    The Concierge is located on L3 opposite Shaburi & Kintan Buffet (#03-11/12). The low counter is 0.8m high while the high counter is 1.1m high.

    Please approach the concierge for the following services:
    • General enquiry
    • Information on mall activities and events
    • Mall promotion enquiries and redemptions
    • Taxi booking & Restaurant Reservation
    • Wheelchair hire
    • First aid assistance
    • Lost and Found (children and property)
    • Sale of Lendlease vouchers
    • SISTIC Ticketing Services (operates from 12pm - 8pm daily)


    Opening Hours: 10am - 10pm
    Concierge services, including mall promotion redemptions and sale of Lendlease vouchers, will end at 9.30pm daily.

    What we do
    A Voice of Our Own: We are an organisation for people with disabilities run by people with disabilities. We listen to the needs of all persons with disabilities in Singapore, their allies, carers and other social service organisations that provide essential services and we ensure their needs are represented at a national level. We provide a platform for all people with disabilities to speak up and ensure their voices are heard.

    How we do it
    We help the disability community have a voice in society by working with decision-makers in political, commercial and educational institutions so that no decision that impacts them is made without them. We also provide training, consultancy and education for both people with disabilities and the public, so we can work together to create an inclusive, accessible society we are all proud of.

    LevelField Consultants advocates and promotes the need for an environment that is accessible, safe and inclusive for persons of all ages and abilities. In addition, we strive to improve the level of awareness about the need for a friendly and conducive built environment to promote the social inclusion of all in particular people with disabilities and the elderly.

    What we do
    LevelField Consultants conducts access audits and provides advice and recommendations to developers, architects, town planners, facility managers, service providers and businesses to improve accessibility and work towards achieving universal design while ensuring compliance of the Code on Accessibility in the Built Environment.

    Through our trained and experienced access auditors, LevelField Consultants capitalises on this knowledge to explain the hows and whys of accessibility in a functional and practical manner. LevelField Consultants also conducts accessibility and universal design training and is the only known accessibility consultancy in Singapore. It champions an inclusive built environment.
